My hare-brained idea is that some process has a problem with the ID 100. To eliminate that I would adjust the ID out of necessity. Yes, the machine has to be offline for this and a new backup is initiated, but this should not cause much more data with PBS. It's more like an act of desperation.

Is this a test machine? If no, then give the poor thing a respectable hard drive :-) In addition, I recommend to install an SNMP service on PVE and therefore also on PBS to collect the values from a monitoring system (e.g. PRTG).

Hello What is your experience with validation and GB/Prune of backups? I currently have ~5TB of data on the PBS and there validation takes almost up to 10 hours, the GC meanwhile took 12 hours. Neither RAM, DiskIO nor CPU seem to be busy. Greetings, Patrick
