    No. VM can't know the underlying host disk neither its fs. Will works, but VM will crash when underlying will be full, that's why over allocation isn't recommended.

    IDK , What is your HW RAID controller ? What are SSD models ? Have you tried disks as HBA ? Have you tried another Write Policy setting ? as Write Through impact I/O , like VMware doesn't honor and Linux does ? VMware has a cache elsewhere ? What fio commands used to do tests ?

    What do you mean by Native installation ? Just tried with the official Microsoft updated Windows iso build 4349 (June 2025) : Cannot boot , bsod "UNSUPPORTED PROCESSOR"
