Hi, I'm trying to passthrough 2 Syba 4 Port SATA Controllers to a VM. It works flawless with one controller but if I add a second (identical) controller I just get a bunch of SATA errors. Any ideas on this? maybe switching the PCIe Slots or something?

Yes. My Mainboard can force the intel onboard to stay on an be primary (post) display device. But since I'm reinstalling Proxmox this weekend I will try what happends if I passthrough both the onboard and the pcie graphics card.

Another question: If I do not use the Graphics Adapter (VM not started) can I also use it for the normal Proxmox terminal? I'm thinking about using the onboard intel for a mac os vm?

I remembered that I played with the Bios parameter to witch from ahci to intel rst for the drive access. (also I rebooted to switch it back) dont know what helped. but now it works again

@sshaikh: I tired to pass it to a linux VM and this one also failed to start. If I look at the end of the VM protocol line: got timeout

@sshaikh: I don't now, It's quiet persistant ;) - I'll try to passthrough the device to my antegos install to see if its the VM or the setup.

Hi, I'm thinking about using the IGP for a MacOS VM. If I passthrough the IGP is it still available for system CLI as long as the VM is no started?

I started with adding a 320GB 2.5" drive. Installed proxmox as zfs raid0 on it. After that I tried to install an VM with Windows 10. However everything is suuuuuuperslow. Just to start the installer takes 15 min.

So I managed to get my OMV installation back running, just with passing the dev/disk/by-id as sata0 -sata5 and 2 drives as virtio. However smart doenst work. and the drives show up as qemu drives. Is there a way to get "real" passthrough of the drives. Or would it work with PCIe Controller...

Oh and since most of my drives are setup in OMV by UUID. Does this also get passed along?
