Thanks for that hint!
Hopefully the patches come soon, but using --targetstorage=local (in my case) is coppying the VM disks like it should. Ill stick to that until patches comes to the normal no sub repo.
aggain, thanks!
What im curious about, was that error also in the stable sub-only...
Im sorry but i dont have any 5.2 nodes in production anymore - i just remember that it worked back then.
But i can say that my uptime was ~60 days with the latest kernel. I remember migrating vms in order to update the kernel, so the bug did probabbly appear within the last 60 days.
Sorry that...
Hi Guys,
i just wanted to upgrade my debian systems for the latest systemd CVEs, so i always i coppied them via
"qm migrate vmid pveid --online --with-local-disks"
What was strange was the time, it was way faster then usal - and indeed the VM instantly crashed on the new host.
It seems like it...
Würde auch gerne kommen, die Themen sehen recht interessant aus, leider sind 250€ als Student nicht so einfach zu stemmen. Würde mich daher ebenfalls über einen Livestream freuen!
Hi Kimmy,
there is nothing wrong with making the hosts accessable via a vm on the host itself. I do this myself. But you should always have a backup method of connecting in case the vm fails, which in my case is IPMI via vpn from a vm outside my cluster.
Kind regards
Thank you for your answer!
I see, most of my vms are allready patched, expect the centos onces since there is no upstream patch so far.
The firewall is indeed using a linux kernel, i will keep this in mind.
Kind regards!
Thats great news.
One question: since its kvm and the network devices are bridged, the host cant be attacked by attacking a guest right?
My hosts are behind a firewall, so i should be good to go?
Kind regards
Hello Forum,
today i tried to livemigrate a few vm for kernel update which worked great like usual on most of them. But one wont work. What i notice is high cachemiss cound, which i never noticed in any other migration before (always 0)
Do you have any ideas?
2018-08-02 12:15:02 starting...
Can confirm this. Installing the scsi driver worked but the vm wont boot up (bluescreen). Its working for two 2016 standards and not for two 2016 essentials.
Kind regards
Hi Dominik,
Thank you very much. It seems to work!
Also big thanks for the patch :) It will probabbly come back within the next weeks or so?
Kind regards
Hello Forum,
since the upgrade to qemu 2.11 (i think the issue is here, i cant say for sure, but it came with the last "monthly update" i did) i get a strange error while performing livemirgration.
At first a migrations works but still output this error:
all mirroring jobs are ready...
Hello Fabian,
is there allready an ETA for that?
Or is there another "comfort" way to make it accessable via gui? For example add a custom cpu type via config?
kind regards
