How to enable "discard" option in Windows KVM.

I think you need virtio scsi and not virtio. Remove the disk and re-add it with virtio-scsi, then you should be able to enable trim/discard After you enabled discard run "disk optimisation" within windows. Then you should see free storage.

PVE3.4 - Safely break up cluster?

That could indeed be interessting.. It might not be the best solution but you could install a nested PVE ontop on the node you like to keep for the migration time so that will always be 2 "nodes" in the cluster. But keep in mind that rebooting that node will be bad idea then.

    Proxmox and Xen Hypervisor?

Thats just speculation in my opinion. Why would you switch from an allready existing xen managementsoftware to another? Migrations usually means alot of work too.

Crash any ProxMox, if you can open TCP session

As a note: Details: USN-4017-1 fixed vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel for Ubuntu. Unfortunately, the update introduced a regression that interfered with networking applications that setup very low SO_SNDBUF values. This update fixes the problem. So the current kernel 4.15.18-41 is still not...

Crash any ProxMox, if you can open TCP session

Thanks. Thats good news! unfortunately i cant update some switches because the ram is not enough, even tho the software is listed as "recommended update" for that concrete switch.. But since every TCP traffic (expect from trusted sources) is dropped, there should be not need to add specific...

Crash any ProxMox, if you can open TCP session

Thanks for the fast update :) One question tho: if a KVM mashine is attacked directly by its ip, will the host crash? As it just forwards the packages via bridge my understanding is that it should be fine. Is this correct? Acutally im not asking this for proxmox but more for any router in a...

PVE Online Migration Fails After Update to PVE 5.4-3

Live-Migration under Proxmox really is a hit & miss. Never run any livemigration after an update before testing it in a lab envoriment. Stuff like this happens way to often since PVE5. Dont get me wrong, i live proxmox and i love the work theyre doing but livemigration did became kinda meh since...
