Internet gateway on a Proxmox VM - feasible?

Yeah. I would probably bump up the RAM a bit if possible. But if you aren't going to go crazy with VMs you should be OK.

Internet gateway on a Proxmox VM - feasible?

Hey DAN! how you doing? Nice to see you over here. If you need some help with network configurations, hit me up, you know where to find me! I have run a virtualized router for years, and currently run a virtualized Sophos UTM in transparent bridge mode. ;)

Proxmox 4 : only root can HA?

I use AD authentication and have full access to everything with my admin account

Can I install plex , transmission , rtorrent and other application ?

Then you shouldn't be adding packages like these into your host. Use VMs, that's why we have them.

can I run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade everyday

Well, you can use the commands as much as you like, but if nothing has been updated in the repos then it doesn't do any good. Is there some reason you don't treat your Proxmox server like a server? Sounds you like are running it like a desktop.

Can I install plex , transmission , rtorrent and other application ?

The better option would be to use a container or KVM and install the software inside it.

    Enlarge Ubuntu VM

Did you try booting a LIVE distro (gparted or ubuntu) or are you attempting to use gparted on your installed Ubuntu system? You must be in a live environment, so that the disk is not mounted when you make these changes. Based on your screenshot, it looks like you have LVM which will probably...

My HP server has two Lan , but only connect to UI with one Lan

I'm guessing the two NICs are the same model, therefore the drivers would be the same, and since the one nic works, so should the other one

My HP server has two Lan , but only connect to UI with one Lan

I don't know what to tell you. My server has 6 NICs in it and the three server I had set up in a cluster a few months back had 11 in each one. They all worked.

My HP server has two Lan , but only connect to UI with one Lan

It might not be called iLO any more. I have seen it referred to as 'out of band management'

My HP server has two Lan , but only connect to UI with one Lan

Yes you can use tons of network cards in Proxmox. Do you have iLO enabled on the first NIC? This might prevent it from working with Proxmox. You need to verify in BIOS that your settings are correct. Out of band management might be taking over on that NIC which will prevent its use in Proxmox

    Enlarge Ubuntu VM

forget the fact that it is a VM, first of all. that part is irrelevant. this has nothing to do with proxmox. easiest way? boot the VM up in a gparted live distro, or just an ubuntu live distro and use gparted. expand the partition using gparted. reboot. There are other ways of doing it on...

    Questions...

I use a cronjob on my NAS to sync my ISOs over to the correct directory. This just means I have duplicates of all my ISOs on my NAS somewhere.

    vlan inside bridge

Yeah. Would like to keep with one thread on this so we can track it. Since I run my routers and firewalls virtually, this bug has me concerned. No updates for me until this is resolved

    Route traffic to SAN

You separate the subnets, and use direct IP to IP communication between San and server. Your design is broken. Fix it.

    Route traffic to SAN

But why would you need to route out if the traffic is in the same subnet? You don't need a gateway for that card
  19. P

    Route traffic to SAN

Based on a quick look at your IPs, it appears that both of your gateways are in the same subnet. Why would you need 2 gateways within the same subnet? I see no reason to route SAN traffic over anything.

    About networks

You need to provide better information for anyone to help. You have a (laptop?) with ProxMox installed on it? (Wifi comment is what doesn't make sense here) You went to a different location and got a new IP? Copy /etc/network/interfaces to /etc/network/interfaces.new, and modify your vmbr0...
