Reinstalling a node within a cluster

Thanks, HA isn't active. I spotted that, but it doesn't mention anything about re-adding the node. If I follow these instructions will it be safe/ok to then re-add the node after the OS has been re-installed? Thanks

Reinstalling a node within a cluster

I have a node which keeps randomly rebooting, sometimes it will go weeks and be fine then suddenly reboot. Its a Dell Poweredge 630, Dell have checked the hardware and say they cannot find anything so im in the horrid position of having to perform a clean re-install. Im not convinced that it...

    uefi command line creation

We've been playing around with automating the creation of VM's but hit a problem when it comes to those requiring uefi boot. Whilst its possible to create/assing a uefi boot disk using the GUI, theres no command line support? Is there no way to create/assign a uefi disk from the command line...

    Dell SAN specific settings

I have a Dell MD38xxi SAN which is being used by a cluster of 3 proxmox servers to share storage & provide luns direct to some VM's. Had a few problems recently when adding a fourth proxmox host, so had to completely re-examine my SAN configuration in order to get things fixed. All working...

    SNMP Monitoring

Should be easy enough, just run a shell script from the PRTG server to view the output of pvecm status command.

    SNMP Monitoring

Are you sure? If you monitor the physical CPU's on a hypervisor with 40 cores running 10 VM's each with different CPU allocations. You will get stats showing how the hypervisor is handling the load but you wont be able to see what percentage of CPU time is being allocated to each VM. Now if you...

    SNMP Monitoring

True but would that not just give me stats from the VM's perspective, and not show me the reality of things like actual CPU use Its definitely PRTG, not sure what MRTG is?

    SNMP Monitoring

Yeah but we fire up / destroy VMs on a regular basis (software dev company) and so I want to be able to monitor the VM's via the hypervisor and not from each VM.

    SNMP Monitoring

Well SNMP is pretty standard, and we currently use PRTG. I've just started looking at the external metric server stuff, but seems a bit overkill.

    SNMP Monitoring

I'm currently evaluating proxmox and so far am really impressed. One thing that seems strangely missing tho is performance monitoring. I've installed snmp on our 3 test nodes and can collect node related data, but it would be fantastic if i could collect data relating to the virtual machines...
