Dear,
Having found https://app.element.io/#/room/#proxmox:matrix.org which does use the official proxmox logo i wonder if it is in any way a viable and reliable alternate support channel ?
Best Regards,
Joris
I see the relevant packages, what does not makes sense is why they keep on being logged by the host and containers despite being disabled for logging everywhere
Despite both the host and lxc having all sysctl keys for martians set to =0 the dmesg output for both host and lxc show repeat martian notifications followed by ll header ...
I do not understand where these keep on comming from or how to investigate more in depth.
Br,
Joris
Call me old fashion, i come from a time people rarely ever rebooted a machine. Solved after a reboot.
Quite the read to learn i need to install 2 packages, start it and reboot.
Works fine now, thanks.
Ah, thanks for reminding me of Looking Glass, looks incredibly interesting.
This brings me closer again to consider working on a Desktop-Server specific variant of ProxMox. Lazyas i am i though sharing it here may be of use.
Hey,
Looking to do some occassional gaming and other GPU intensive tasks on a VM (yes, you read that right) i wondered what is the best way to get maximum performance, hence minimum lag. At one point i had the GPU output on a monitor connected to the server, which was pretty neat. But i believe...
thanks for the constructive response
My personal view is a specialist distro with the Debian repositories to be supplemented at will as optional would be the most convenient for everone. Just my view.
:) Reading my posts you should have found ... most issues i posted about at length in frustration were caused by the consequences of an upgrade to 32GB of ram. This forced me to lower default ram speed from 3200Mhz profile to custom 2667Mhz profile Since, no more weird issues. I am to upgrade...
Why not reduce proxmox to a specialist distro then ?
After installing the package i see nothing but trouble which i cannot blame on Debian.
There is an rrdcache process running unbound but i find the process nowhere for example.
Not sure about anything anymore. While i was perfectly able to boot with PCI passthrough enabled and be shown a login prompt, i now land at vfio-pci ... vgaarb: changed VGA decodes ...ooh, linux can be so exhausting
Backtracking on my own statements.
The cmdline in use now (very stable, not know if fast)
iommu=pt amd_iommu=on nomodeset nofb video=vesafb:off,efifb:off text
For /etc/modules i have
amd_iommu_v2
vfio
vfio_iommu_type1
vfio_pci
vfio_virqfd
aufs
overlay
msr
for...
oh, yes, indeed, a typo.
After much trial and error i ended up with a working configuration which is fast and stable.
I did check all available documents, this did not work as such for my setup at the time.
Based on the tests i performed and the experience i grew i do not think i can leave...
