I have tried to rsync or scp an 'offline' VM image and conf file to another location as backup and then tried to restore the VM from that backup. VM seems to work fine after the restore.
Will do this for now until a better way to do incremental/differential 'online' backup for linked-clones...
Ok, thanks for your feedback, Dietmar!
Is it possible to just scp an 'online' 'linked-clone' image + config file to another location as backup?
scp /var/lib/vz/images/100/base-100-disk-1.qcow2 192.168.1.1:/var/lib/vz/images/100/
scp /etc/pve/qemu-server/100.conf 192.168.1.1:/etc/pve/qemu-server/

"4.0Beta-26/5d4a6l5b" works best for me and I do not know how to get back that particular version. Even downloading the official PVE 4.0 beta1 do not give me that particular version. It installs this version instead - "4.0Beta-16|a7dc5694".
I'm also having this issue. My guess is it may be related to update of QEMU 2.4 or the Linux kernel update to 4.2

Is there anywhere I can check Disk IO?
There is a category called IO delay = 0% in Summary view.
And do you know what 'server load' graph measures?
Each individual VM CPU usage is < 30% and memory ~80%
You are saying 7VMs sharing physical 4 cores with each having only 'real' 0.5vCores.
I have a 4 Cores/16Gb server setup.
Will be running all WS-2012-R2 KVMs with 2vcores/2GbRam
These VMs will be running graphic intensive app.
How many KVMs can I create for decent performance?
