    Activedirectory Kerberos Only

This is mostly correct, except that you can use StartTLS on port 389 ;-)

VMs freezing and unreachable when backup server is slow

Quite easy to reproduce. Use a dedicated PBS server (not PVE itself). Unplug the network cable of PBS during a backup, and see what happens

VMs freezing and unreachable when backup server is slow

    Done here : https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3631 :)

VMs freezing and unreachable when backup server is slow

Depending on the importance of the VM, failing a backup but ensuring the VM is still working might be desired

GZIP Backup Still Growing Larger After Half The Files In VM Deleted

You have to reboot the guest (shut it down completly, then boot again, or use the reboot button from PVE interface, not a simple reboot from the guest OS). There shouldn't be any risk, but it's better to take a backup before. Once the guest is rebooted, space will be reclaimed at the next fstrim...

GZIP Backup Still Growing Larger After Half The Files In VM Deleted

You have to enable discard on the disk for it to be passed down from the guest to the host storage

    Proxmox VE 6.4 available

I couldn't get it to list files on XFS filesystems, on plain partitions. One thing which would be nice to see supported is filesystem without any partition. I often attach a dedicated data disk to my VM, format directly /dev/sdb without creating any partition or LVM, and then mount it where I...

Sudden progressive freezing of virtual machines

I think I was bitten by the same issue this morning. It affected 5 different VM of a single node. Some VM where still working normally. The affected VM could not respond on the network (the issue started during the night and from my monitoring system, the network issue seemed intermitent), the...

Proxmox on dedibox (scaleway) : ip failover

Should be available again (pfiou, what a mess with OVH DC !!)

    Proxmox on OVH

There has been a fire in one of OVH DC this night, which is impacting many OVH services right now

Proxmox on dedibox (scaleway) : ip failover

Hi. Yeah sorry. This server is hosted on OVH SGB3 DC, which burnt this night. Currently working on getting it up and running again

Proxmox on dedibox (scaleway) : ip failover

I've written some scripts for this. First, you have to download https://git.fws.fr/fws/ansible-roles/src/branch/master/roles/pve/files/pve-online in /usr/local/bin/pve-online with exec permissions Then, put https://git.fws.fr/fws/ansible-roles/src/branch/master/roles/pve/files/online_hook.pl in...

[SOLVED] proxmox crash with ceph clock_skew when time synchronsation is started (chrony)

You should check the logs of the other nodes, where you should see something about node1 being fenced

[SOLVED] proxmox crash with ceph clock_skew when time synchronsation is started (chrony)

Guess you have enabled HA for some guests. In which case, it's normal. When chrony starts, it'll make the clock jump (it can be a few seconds, or several minutes, depending on how unsynchronized your clock was). And from corosync POV, this means the node had no contact with the other nodes for...

XFS filesystem errors after VM restore

Most of my VM are not using LVM, but some of them are. For information, what storage are your VM using ? I had this kind of FS corruption not because of PBS, but because of some iSCSI command responses when LIO was reprovisionned (I was using ZFS over iSCSI with LIO backend, switched to NFS with...

XFS filesystem errors after VM restore

Nothing fancy. Daily backups, no encryption, snapshot mode. PBS is responsible for pruning though. From incremental backups, if you mean fast incr using dirty-bitmaps : yes, we're using them, and I've tested several restorations successfuly

XFS filesystem errors after VM restore

I've done quite a lot of restorations from PBS with guests using XFS (el7, el8) without issue, so, it doesn't look like a general problem

Join PVE Host to FreeIPA Domain?

I don't know freeipa, but I guess it's also using sssd, and so, it should work to. Better to try on a test proxmox though

Join PVE Host to FreeIPA Domain?

Can't say for FreeIPA as I do not use it, but I'm joining my PVE servers to my AD (samba4) domain using sssd / adcli. It's working without issue.

    Thin pool pve-data-tpool (253:4) transaction_id is 32, while expected 29.

Looks like you haven't reduced the swap LV, as there's still the same amount of free extents
