Thanks, I'm already doing that things now, installing Proxmox on flash drive (inserted by datacenter support guys, ISO attached to IPMI via smb), but it'll be proxmox-ve_6.3-1.iso only, so I'll need to apt-get update ; apt-get dist-upgrade it, then get some space back from ZFS (is it'll be safe...
I think the same my trouble is because of new ZFS features (zpool upgrade) and using new compression=zstd not covered by grub, but successfully booted by EFI (I've switched one of my servers manually in BIOS). Unfortunately, another my server has not UEFI at all, so I can't either mount ZFS...
The same problem after update and reboot.
One server was fixed by changing boot via EFI in BIOS settings... but another one hasn't UEFI and can't boot, stops at grub rescue> :(
No solution found here, Proxmox VE is fully on ZFS mirror. Need help too.
May be zpool upgrade and zfs set...
Yes, reused directory... not only directory, but ZFS volume -- somewhat hard to delete, because I've already wiped backup from PVE Storage in web interface, so deleting CT template failed... needed to recreate ZFS item there.
Finally, CT template has been purged, ZFS volume...
Well, I've found the difference, what is that directory stopping garbage collection... it is cloned template of CT!
But why on earth it's here and messing things for PBS?
I'll delete it now and test garbage collection again.
Well, it's original ksm service. BTW, is it displaying something other than 0 in KSM field of Proxmox VE web interface?
I've spoke more about ksm-control-daemon package usually added by PVE installation ISO image. Are you managed to get it worked?
I've run some commands like (don't remember...
I've usually installed Proxmox VE two ways:
using downloaded official ISO image (flash drive, "bare metal")
using apt install proxmox-ve over the Debian 10 on Hetzner dedicated server (Instruction).
Then I've noticed not working KSM in second case... yes, ksm-control-daemon wasn't installed...
Please join with topic https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/pve-update-backups-failed-on-lxcs-with-bind-mount-points.79340/ or public the final solution there too.
I'm interested in WireGuard too... just because of its' light and fast clients for Android comparing with OpenVPN.
If exists, it would be best to have some HOWTO for PVE+WireGuard setup.
All three fresh updated PVEs failed to backup LXCs with bind mount points, tasks' logs got errors like:
INFO: filesystem type on dumpdir is 'zfs' -using /var/tmp/vzdumptmp7820_210 for temporary files
INFO: Starting Backup of VM 210 (lxc)
INFO: Backup started at 2020-11-20 04:34:03

I mean ISO boot images for installing Proxmox VE only, not for everyday running from.
If you can, please burn in the last ISO image to real blank shining round DVD plate and try to boot from it.
Sorry, I have no working CD/DVD drive now to test. But USB-DVD emulation on my Zalman ZM-VE300...
May be something wrong with the last ISO image

It was succesfully downloaded on my Zalman ZM-VE300 USB-HDD, as usual, into _ISO directory. File itself is reading OK, SHA256 checksum is OK too.
But I can't...
Of course, I have already 20+pinned tabs (6 of them are ProxmoxVE) and sometimes 400+ others open. But I have no space for them more -- just for another service on the same host.
IMHO PBS (for now) is not so hard loaded service to monitor it continuosly. I can copy-paste URL, change port and...
Please please!
Add special PBS button to fast open PBS web interface (if installed) instantly from PVE web interface, somewere near Datacenter-Backup and Datacenter-Storage.
Thanks in advance.
Beta is so beta...
There is no any note in documentation describing what URL or port is used by Proxmox Backup Server :(
I've spent all my evening trying to manage PBS (installed via apt-get on my PVE server) via ProxmoxVE (!) web-interface (tcp/8006) instead of... until I've feel it weird and...
