Hi,
@fabian
Yes, the example is correct.
In the tests I did, I realized that there is this timing condition for the "error" to occur or not.
In a real case, it is not possible to choose the node that will have problem and so this "failure" condition may occur and Admin will need to fix it...
Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand that "software" can not always decide which option is the correct ( best ) one for each environment and that's why we have "Admins".
In my test scenario, VM is always powered off so the last ( previous ) snapshot is the same in all nodes.
In a real...
Hi,
The simulation was to evaluate DR options.
The VM was off and so I turned off the node where it was.
No HA was configured for this VM.
How can I use already replicated content to start this VM on another node ?
The test was based on this Proxmox documentation.
"move both guest...
Hi,
There is another one here
The article states "... all while guaranteeing a non-disruptive transition for Linux users".
Let's wait for the response from the Proxmox staff.

Hi,
I'm testing some DR scenarios and came to errors in replication.
There is no HA configuration for the single VM I'm using for this test.
Scenario is :
- 3 Proxmox 6.0-5 version configured to work in Cluster mode
- Nodes are named pve-t01 / pve-t02 / pve-t03
- Just one VM that is in...
Hi,
I have 18 Windows 10 VMs accessed by Spice and it is working very well.
The only problem is that some users from time to time force a poweroff of their physical machines (all Debian 9) by pressing the power button and the associated VM also goes off.
I found here someone with a similar...
Hi,
@tom
First I want to say a Big Thank you for the excellent new Proxmox version 6.
Now IMHO we must think about :
A) A GUI must not guide a user to an error
B) As a Developer one must know what it's possible or not
C) Currently we know that it's not possible to live migrate a VM with...
Hi,
It's good to know that someone else is testing GlusterFS.
I put a message some days ago ( here ) asking for comments about GlusterFS and its performance.
So far my tests indicates its an option for a shared storage but more tests must be done.
I'm running the most uptodate GlusterFS...
Hi,
I know this is an old thread but maybe someone else return here in the future.
See this : https://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2016-November/029144.html
There is also an interesting topic ( how to acces gluster using gfapi via QEMU ) here
And here more details about...
Hi,
Searching the threads, I found this one :
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/bug-proxmoxs-qemu-and-debian-8-virtio-drivers-as-vm-guest.22882/
It seems that this problem (GlusterFS performance) has been around for a long time without any action.

Ricardo Jorge
Hi,
I'm still running my tests over gluster and today I tested a container and the performance was very good.
I think this is good point to be noted as some time ago people noticed performance problems with gluster + containers.
See here ...
Hi,
This message is to ask you guys if anybody else can share gluster experience as a Proxmox shared storage.
I decided to give GlusterFS a try and the performance was really bad when I started.
As I have only one environment where I can test it, all the tests have the same machines and I...
Hi,
Thank you again for your reply.
I'm going to give version 6 a try and return to you.
By the way this topic is going to be answered by the new version.
Thanks for your and all others effort to make the new version a reallity.
Regards,
Ricardo Jorge
Hi,
@fabian, thanks again for your reply.
Just think out of a small box and you can see that there is no fundamental misunderstanding from my comments.
If so, what you are going to improve in the live migration ?
Looks like you taking this thread as personnal.
Regards,
Ricardo Jorge
Hi,
@fabian Thanks for your reply.
IMHO There are two points here :
1) There is no sense ( as you can not use the replicated VM ) in having replication when one is working with local disks and maybe you can disable that function when you detect a VM in such a condition. Function is disabeld...
