    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build This is a nice mobo, but feature-wise an overkill for a server. Unless you want to experiment with passthrough and/or using it as a desktop too. @mir: Software bridge in linux and VLANs should work transparently on any NIC. EDIT: additionally, according to the...

No shutdown of VM's during restart of node

I had this same problem for multiple 3.2 nodes. It has been fixed in 3.3, or at least it works properly for whatever reason. The workaround was to issue "service pve-manager stop" before reboot. This took care of the proper shutdown sequence.

    New mini-itx Proxmox Build

Re: New Mini-itx Proxmox Build Sorry for barking in, but what is the problem with USB pendrives as boot devices? Obviously, /var, /tmp, VM/CT area and generally volumes written by the system are to be mounted on a "real" disk or on the network. Even VMWare ships ESXi on a bootable pendrive...

[SOLVED] Problem PCIe Passthrough M1015 / Network boot hang's up.

Re: Problem PCIe Passthrough M1015 XPEnology(Nanoboot) boot hang's up. I think the VM boots from ide0 in his conf. Another shot: I use the same HBA model in kvm with PCI passthrough. But I don't see the bios messages nor the bios installing itself. I think if the card is properly flashed to IT...

[SOLVED] Problem PCIe Passthrough M1015 / Network boot hang's up.

Re: Problem PCIe Passthrough M1015 XPEnology(Nanoboot) boot hang's up. Did you blackist the mpt2sas module on the host? If not then create a file: /etc/modprobe.d/pci-redirect.conf with the contents "blacklist mpt2sas" (without quotes) and reboot.

Issues with iommu with 3.10 kernel in pvetest repo

I'm running into similar problems with my Intel DQ67SW-based home server runing PVE. The problems started with upgrading from 3.2 to 3.3, kernel went from 2.6.32-30-pve to 2.6.32-32-pve. I'll try to sum up what happened. The card I'm passing through is an IBM Serveraid M1015 in IT mode for ZFS...

node instability - uncertain of cause

Well, you can never be sure if it's a SW or a HW failure until you have definite proof. Stress-testing memory and CPU does not test everything. Even high value brand servers can crash twice a day after rigorous testing and passing their own firmware-based self-tests at every single reboot. I...

    noVNC: copy paste not works

You can change the default viewer (ie. the one that launches on single click) in Datacenter/Options. Where I upgraded to 3.3 or the 3.2 that already included this feature it was always automatically set to default, but you can change it manually, too.

    Is Proxmox Vulnerable to CVE-2014-6271

When using Squeeze, don't forget to add the LTS repo to the apt sources. More info: https://wiki.debian.org/LTS/Using The LTS repository already contains the fixed Bash package. No need to fiddle with random patches and .deb downloads.

    noVNC: copy paste not works

Spice is not an alternative for the noVNC console. It requires client software installation and as e100 mentioned, signed drivers are a problem. I know it's just a workaround but I'm using Keepass2 for general pw storage and it has a configurable auto-type facility. I can easily be configured...

    No control panel for clients?

Thanks, but I already know how to add a new role using the command line. That was not the question. The question was how to assemble a role of permissions to hide those components. From the available docs I gathered that it's impossible but you and pirateghost hinted otherwise. I see you're...

    No control panel for clients?

@pirateghost: thanks. @korakomputer: yeah, I don't want them to see these. But you seem to know how to hide them, care to share?

Would you be so kind and share your role settings with us? I think it would be very helpful.

    No control panel for clients?

The PVE manager web would be almost perfect, though it would be great if the side panel at the left with the tree and the bottom panel with the 2 tabs could be turned off for a role. I wouldn't want my clients see what there is to try and fiddle with. Even if they have no access to components...

how to configure network for a centos CT

You configure it as if it was a normal host with an eth0 interface. It's different than the interfaces file in Debian, see here: http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/Deployment_Guide-en-US/s1-networkscripts-interfaces.html

    NoVNC Bug

I'm not using Mac but I have seen similar errors on high-latency, low-bandwidth connections, such as a slow DSL line. Regardless of browser used (tried most recent FF and Chrome). I don't know if it helps.

    Please Support BIOS RAID Again!

So it had support at some time and then removed. That's what OP sees in newer/older PVE installations. However, when I'm creating a mirror with mdadm, I learned to never create a simple mirror but a RAID10 with f2 layout. It's a special configuration supported with at least 2 disks, and...

Disc has increased size, after storage migration

Are you sure 1 TB is not the apparent size? Check with du to see the real size. Well, next time, since you've already compressed it with qemu-img.
