Hi all
I've just updated proxmox (I don't have the old version, but it was maybe 2 months or so)
current:
pve-manager/4.4-13/7ea56165 (running kernel: 4.4.44-1-pve)
A third party script (librenms proxmox poller) is now showing error below (This was working before the update/reboot)
Can't...
Hi Guys
My Proxmox is configured in that all my LXC containers have a .raw image which contains their filesystem in /var/lib/vz/images.
I was wondering if I can set specific mount options per container so that for example the container itself could have "noatime" set. I dont want this global...
@dietmar
I am having this problem also - I decided to retire a node completely so got what i needed, powered it off and then used pvecm delnode <node>
The node is still in my web interface so I removed /etc/pve/nodes/<node> but it is still in my web interface - is there anywhere else I need...
if i have a hex core host and I want to give an LXC container the processing power of 2 cores, I can either set "Cores" to 2 OR "CPU Limit" to 2, both have the effect of limiting the CPU power this container has, but they do it in different ways, I was just wondering what the pros/cons of each...
Hi Guys
I noticed recently that my LXC containers have a new option called "Cores". I previously had an LXC container configured with a CPU limit of 1 on a 4 core box and the end result was that the workload was spread across all cores but each one was loaded at about 25% - This resulted in...
Hi @wolfgang
Thanks, but I was hoping more for somthing I could poll to get usage at the time of polling. That command seems to give me a lot of un-nessecery output and seems to be delayed by 1 minute. Should the command I listed above not output CPU usage at the time of polling?
It seems...
Hi Guys
I'm looking at making some scripts that give me stats of my containers but I'm having difficulty getting CPU usage for it via the API.
When looking at a container's status via the API, I suspect the "cpu" value should represent the percentage of CPU its using against its allocation...
Hi @dietmar
ssh node5 worked but pvesh didnt.
I've sorted this now, but it seems to be because "node5" resolved to node5.mydomain.com, which was a different IP used for clustering
I used the IP in `pvecm status` for SSH and then it all started working fine once I approved the host key
Thanks
Hi Guys
Recently discovered pvesh but having an issue with some of my nodes.
These work as expected and i get a list of nodes:
root@node2:~# pvesh get /nodes/node3/lxc
root@node2:~# pvesh get /nodes/node1/lxc
But these two fail and im not really sure what to do :)
root@node2:/~# pvesh get...
If I have an older install (that was Proxmox 3) but has been upgraded to Proxmox 4, what would the process be to convert the existing pve-data volume to be in line with your now recommended practices?
(Obviously will back up existing VMs first)..
I assume something along the lines of:
Back...
Hi @wbumiller
Can you keep us updated on progress of this? I was trying to build a template for myself but I suspect this is blocking at the moment :)
See https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/custom-lxc-templates.28832/
Thanks
Answered my own question - yes it can

Hi
For me this was a two fold thing - By default containers seem to use .raw files now - The same as you I started having io problems.
I found out how to make the container use the old OpenVZ method so the entire rootfs was visible from the host...
Hi dcsapak,
What're the benefits for doing storage this way now? I installed a new node today and noticed local-lvm storage and lack of /dev/pve/data being mounted at /var/lib/vz
In my case as it was a fresh server, and to bring it in line with the rest of my cluster I have mounted it...
Hi Guys
I used to have some documentation for Proxmox 3 that detailed how to convert an existing OpenVZ container into a template I could use for new containers. Since the move to LXC I feel I need to refresh things a bit.
I dont really want to use the containers available via `pveam` because...
