I always thought that a global whitelist entry for a given sender domain would allow any kind of subdomain entry for that domain, too.
But with Proxmox 3.1 - 5695 this is not working.
If you allow hrs.com as an example then mails from info@newsletter.hrs.com are still blocked.
What is the...
It took me some time to notice that PMG 3 now detects all mails as SPAM.
I followed the instructions to the book. FULL backup - scp to newly installed system - restored the backup.
Same IP, same license file, everything looked fine.
BUT: although some sender domains are in global whitelist...
In fact I already edited that file with nano but overlooked "eth1" at the end of the line.
Changed that to eth0 and it worked - but thanks anyway !
Philipp
We lost eth0 on our proxmox Mailserver VM - We took down the vm and moved the disk to another datastore and fired it up again.
Network adapter e1000 ist still connected but debian doesn't see it anymore.
Any hints much appreciated,
Philipp
Hello Tom,
that is ok for me - as a temporary solution this works for us.
Thank you for the workaround , we are waiting for the hotfix, then.

This is no solution for us at all.
Not blocking encrypted archives is a very seriouis hole in the setup of an antivirus gateway.
We used to implement "exception" rules for special users, who are smart enough to handle a possibly infected attachment.
If we tear down the wall like suggested, this...
Hello all,

Hello Tom,
Thank you forr your tip: we romved this file and it stopped blinking ;-)
BTW: we already upgraded to Avira SAV at that customers site.
I really liked to remove the line in that HTML-page with Kaspersky AV completely, since this is no longer available and therefore produces confusion...
Since KAV is discontinued , when can we get rid of this annoying and blinking message, that KAV license has expired ??
I'd really expected that the latest hotfix would change this.
Any tipps how to circumvent this in the meantime ?
Regards - Philipp
OK - further investigation shows that only mails from our ISP's backup MX are coming through like this?
Is this because we followed the best practices in the promox manuals to have this host whitelisted in the global whitelist?
Are these hosts excluded from all checks ?

Hi,
I set "Verify Receivers" under "Mail/Options" to either yes/450 or yes/550, which worked fine for us for a long time.
Since weeks we are flooded by a wave of mails like this (unchanged source code):
Return-Path: aphelionsfp9@reinbou.com
Received: from proxmox.newvision-it.de...
