Hi,
we were just facing this really odd trouble here, and wondered if anyone was experiencing the same or has any answers:
- Virtual Environment 4.4-12/e71b7a74 on supermicro server hardware with LSI RAID Adapter.
RAID1 with two 3 TB disks, no errors in Raid, no Errors in (ECC) RAM

Solved the problem...
I needed to go into advanced setting when installation asks for the harddisk to use.
Then just take some of the space away,(i shrinked it by 2 GB) and everything will work like expected.
cheers everyone!
hm, looking at it again, i think it's not being able to create the thni LVM, could that be?
Is there any boot option i can give the machine to prevent it from doing so, as i don't want thin anyways...
Thanks
Sascha
Hi!
i am trying to install PVE 4.2 on a new Hetzner Server.
The Server has two 3TB Sata Disks on an LSI HWR.
As soon as Proxmox wants to configure the partitions, unfortunately i get:
"unable to activate volume group"
Any idea, what might be wrong here?
here's a screenshot of the KVM after the...
Hi,
yes exactly, the move disk wizard.
in both cases i used virtio_0 as device. I later tried with other combinations as well, changing the boot order accordingly, but unfortunately to no avail. Semms like the vdisk is actually loosing its boot record, after the migration.
thanks
Sascha
Hello!
on our Porxmox VE 4.2 we have a working windows XP guest with a "raw" disk image.
In order to being able to use live snapshots, i want to migrate the raw image to qcow2. I did that by using the PVE GUI (after preparing the storage to be mounted).
Now, when i want to start the XP guest, i...

Hi Udo,
thanks for helping.
Maybe the problem is a bit different here.
The machine was initially converted from a vmware image, thus SLES allready had all the /dev/sda entries for grub and fstab.
So when i wanted to switch from ide to virtio, the machine will not properly boot anymore...

Hi,
i was wondering, if by any chance it was possible to change the harddisk bus from ide to virtio in a SLES 11 KVM guest.
It just doesn't seem t o boot properly with virtio, as assumingly ther's no virtio support in the kernel of SLES.
Anyone been through this before, and able to help me...
I just tried the latest drivers Virtio 0.1-65 with a WinXP SP3 Machine and get the same BSOD!
Just wanted to inform everybody...
Problem still persists on WinXP Style OS, presumably with Win2003 too.
What exactly is the problem? Anyone has any idea?
Sascha
i use 1-49 now for the win2003 guest, but 1-49 seems to have problems with Windows XP SP3!
viostor doesn't seem to be usable for XP in that version. no bluescreens this time, but errors while installation of the virtual harddisk.
Anyone with the same experience?
Sascha
