Hi,
same issue here too on a new installation with 6.3-3.
We don't have the problem on a setup that we upgraded to 6.3-3 from an older version.
Any hint appreciated
Sascha
Hi,
Templates still won't backup to PBS if ide is used for harddisk.
Stuck to ide here, as this seems to be the only way to handle my old winXP guests (don't ask...they're essential) :-)
Backup to a local Backup storage (no PBS) works completely fine though.
Would love to see this fixed for ide...
hey everyone.
after such a long time without any issues, i now get that mail from Hetzner again.
on the Proxmox Host however rpcbind is completely disabled already, all i can see is:
systemctl | grep -i rpc
run-rpc_pipefs.mount...
I am sorry guys, but i can't really contribute.
We didn't see this behavior anymore for quite some time.
We actually thought this might have been solved by some of the updates in the meantime.
hope you get this solved!
Sascha
Hi,
yes, wondering here too.
Why reverify every backup that has allready been verified?
Would be good to verify just the new arrivals, don't you think?
This way it would be much easier to run a verification at least every day or so.
thanks
Sascha
Hi MasterTH,
yes, true. clonezilla would work just fine.
unfortunately this would mean the need of real access to the source.
at this moment we only have remote access to a running machine though, that's why selfimage would turn out just perfect.
no idea how to solve this incorrectly sized...
Hi everybody,
i am trying to migrate some physical Windows XP machines to VMs...don't ask me why this is needed...it is unfortunately :)
I remember the great easyness to accomplish such tasks on the fly using selfimage, but unfortunately this doesn't seem to work anymore.
Maybe you have some...
Hi Fabian,
thanks a lot for your reply. Yes, i guess the workaround will perfectly do for us for now.
However, as dirty bitmaps will be lost also in quite a few other scenarios (HA Migations for example), we would really appreciate some improvements on this field.
Which of course does not at...
Hi Fabian,
just learned this myself. Backups of non running VMs are very slow compared to the incredible speed with backups of running VMs.
So i was wondering if there would be any solution, technically speaking, to this, what do you think?
Else i would just backup poolwise in the future, and...
@Amin Vakil
seems to resolve the issue...really...who would have thought....a solution, after all these years... :)
for everybody out there getting the same (forbidden MAC adresses) messages from Hetzner:
systemctl disable rpcbind.service rpcbind.socket rpcbind.target
systemctl stop...
this is really weird...the host i got hetzners mac adress message for has a firewall configured correctly, so the port is explicitly blocked:
So this would mean, as long as rpcbind is active, it does not matter, if the port is blocked for incoming traffic, it will still send outgoing packets...
ah, ok...interesting.
So
systemctl disable --now rpcbind.socket
systemctl disable --now rpcbind.target
systemctl disable --now rpcbind.service
on the Proxmox host solved it for you, you're saying?
Hi,
well, what you describe would fix the port 111/Portmapper open messages from Hetzner, we know how to solve that allready.
But would it fix the unallowed MAC adresses warning we get from Hetzner also?
Don't believe so, would you?
Or am i missing something here?
cheers
Sascha
Hi Amin,
we have pretty much the same issue i think, but we also don't have a solution.
We thought about using the macfiltering for the Proxmox Host too, as it works for the VMs allready, but until now, we haven't yet accomplished.
Have a look...
Hi, sorry for revitalizing this.
We still have these Problems with Hetzner pointing us to unallowed MAC Adresses being registered on their switches.
Still we have not found had a working solution.
Maybe you could help us again?
thanks
Sascha
