I am trying to achieve a more automated setup and automatically assign public IP's via mac addresses with problem is, vmbr0 is my host ip (say 37.187.133.1) and I own ranges 178.32.25.1/27 and 178.32.240.1/28 I use bridged networking with KVM it doesn't seem that it is going to be possible to do...
I am basically trying to get some work done in this area too basically I want users who don't want to take time to setup a ISO to be able to point and click to setup a default KVM Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS image with networking up and some default packages if you guys notice more work in this...
after looking in to this a bit further it seems anything with the qm command doesn't work ie qm start id doesn't work qm list doesn't work all just give no response yet i can start the kvm in proxmox any ideas?
I cannot console in to any KVM instances I even tried restarting my host the error is:
Network error: remote side closed connection please help I can console in to VZ instances fine!
ok, thats what i originally thought but then i saw the qemu folder and thought that maybe it existed for a template like stacklet so it sounds like i will create a vm, and replace the disk with the stacklet image. i'll try this out and respond, thank you
I am ultimately trying to be able to use stacklet KVM templates but i don't know how so i am assuming/guessing that the qemu folder inside the templates dir is for kvm templates if i'm wrong i just want to be able to use stacklet templates for kvm.
Just an update on this, I tried the following in /var/lib/vz/template/qemu:
.tar.gz
.qcow2
.raw.img
.raw.img.txz
I refreshed proxmox and didn't see anything on the serverlist where templates would usually be?
I have /var/lib/vz/template/qemu/ but i try sticking a .qcow2 file in there and I don't seem to see it in proxmox web interface, what is it for? do i use a different file type? can i use stacklet templates with KVM? If so, how? I tried googling a lot of this stuff but can't seem to locate any...
