    Adventures with a virtual firewall

Turns out the original way I found out how to fix this was via another post on here! http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/13013-Error-pfsense-freebsd In short, do the changes I've suggested already AND change the CPU to "qemu64". I've just confirmed that works. :)

    Adventures with a virtual firewall

Yeh, the BSD kernel has an issue with the newer bios. There was a bug logged in the qemu side of things if I recall as that's how I found out to use an older version. Have a go at the above and let me know how it goes :-)

    Adventures with a virtual firewall

Sorry about the delay. Meant to do it last night but was so engrossed with bloody VLANs I forgot! Okay, the config line you need in the VM conf is: "args: -bios /usr/share/kvm/oldbios.bin" and the old bios I've uploaded here: http://sdrv.ms/11hSQFo It's basically an older version of the SeaBios...

    Adventures with a virtual firewall

This was because of a new bios that was upgraded. All BSD distro's seemed to be affected. If I recall, 2.3 caused this. 2.2 doesn't have this problem. Long story short, add the older bios to the machine and specify that manually in the config. I've got a feeling I've lost the link to the article...

    VLAN Tagging egress

Thanks Kyc, I've seen both those posts before but actually might warrant a new look at them! @dietmar - I'm aware of the VLAN setting in the GUI, thats how I've been configuring them. If I have 2 machines on the same VMBR with different VLANs then that works as expected (as in, they cant see...

    VLAN Tagging egress

Yup, got that. Thing is, I cant even see the tagged packets if I tcpdump from the host. Assuming the switch is configured right, should proxmox work like this out of the box or is extra configuration required to pass the tags over eth0?

    VLAN Tagging egress

Hi All, I have two proxmox v2.x servers (NOT clustered). They both have a single physical NIC and both sit on the same physical (and logical) network. I have numerious VMs on each one that utilises the default VMBR0 that proxmox sets up. Various hosts are configured with VLAN tags via the...
