How to add second drive for VM storage?

I'm not sure. Not ZFS or any raid for sure, I just have two disks for VM storage and need more space. I would think lvm-thin, is that what the default (local-lvm) storage is?

How to add second drive for VM storage?

I read through the wiki but the Proxmox storage model is still new and a bit confusing to me. My initial setup was one hard drive using the just the defaults for the Proxmox install, then another couple of drives being shared through NFS for containers. I am running out of storage space for...

How to move Proxmox and all containers VM to a new hard drive?

Hmm I'll be home in an hour or so, I'll look at my bios settings and see if I can see anything that sounds like what you're describing. The server is a Dell 2950, SAS drives. I thought it was weird that I had to do this, I was expecting to pop in a drive, boot Proxmox and format it but the...

How to move Proxmox and all containers VM to a new hard drive?

The (currently two) storage drives-500 and 146 GB are just NFS shares. That is what I want to increase in size - put the one 146 GB to by three of them in raid5. Nothing is really raid0, at least I mean not multiple drives. I had to format to raid0 in order for Proxmox to see them, I couldn't...

How to move Proxmox and all containers VM to a new hard drive?

Great. Yeah, same size, exact same model of drive. When I pop in the new drive it would become /dev/sdd. When I dd then remove the old drives will the new drive still be /dev/sdd and I'll need to edit fstab, or will it become sda? Having multiple drives and my OS being at the end is just begging...

How to move Proxmox and all containers VM to a new hard drive?

I am switching around my setup so I need to move my current install with all my VMs/containers/storage to a new hard drive. What's the best way to do this? DD the entire old hard drive to the new then remove the old? Or install a new Proxmox to the new drive and copy over everything needed? And...

    Can't Change Proxmox IP

I am wanting to set up a pfSense VM to run as a router. Yes, I know this isn't a recommended setup but it is for learning purposes and will only be temporary. Currently my network is set at 192.168.0.* with my Proxmox bare metal being 192.168.0.170. pfSense is set to 192.168.175.1 Now for...

How to assign static IP for container?

Urg. Perfect, fixed it thanks. So much trial and error and I was missing the /CIDR there. In case anybody else searches and finds this, just putting in the IPv4/CIDR field did apply a static IP but I couldn't connect to the internet from the container. Putting in the gateway fixed this.

How to assign static IP for container?

I am newish to networking and a couple days new to virtualization and I'm having a bit of a hard time wrapping my head around networking, specifically assigning static IPs to my containers. proxmoxserver has an IP of 192.168.0.170 and I would like to assign ....171 to my first container and 172...
