Shure, there is a bottleneck. But XP starts to slow, compared to Win7.
I have th same issue local and via cifs / nfs. The ProxMox 1.8 Server has its VMs under cifs and XP run fine.

the GlusterFS has actual no writeback and works on a degraded Raid6. The Raid6 makes now a rebuild.

Also Linux ( under KVM ) runs very quick.
I have tested cifs, nfs and currently Gluster.

I try to upload a ISO File with 5.23G (Windows 7).
The Statusbar shows 106585251.45% (316MB) and this aborts the upload.
I tryed this many times. A smaller ISO transfered correct.
There is enough space on /var/tmp
I transfer the file via scp, this works.
