Update: I restored the vzdump to local storage on the 1.4b2 cluster. Then I created a backup of that virtual machine using the newer version of vzdump (via the gui). When I then try to restore this newly created backup to shared storage I get another error:
qmrestore --storage onetb...
I'm trying to restore a backup created with vzdump (on proxmox 1.3) to a 1.4b2 machine. The destination storage named 'onetb' is DRBD-backed LVM.
When I try to run the command:
qmrestore --storage onetb vzdump-2666.tgz 3333I receive the error:
INFO: restore QemuServer backup 'vzdump-2666.tgz'...
Did you install the pve kernel using apt? i.e. did you modify your debian sources.list to include the pve repository?
The reason I ask is i've installed kernels using "dpkg -i" and had similar problems to you.

You can use the virtio disk drivers in the initial install, I tested this with 2003 server 64bit. The net driver can easily be installed after machine has booted.
Login to the proxmox server via ssh.
First create a floppy image containing the drivers using the standard linux dd & loop mount...
