Hello,
i use Proxmox on a dedicated server and iam running a windows 7 machine as guest.
The server is connected over gigabit and the guest has the virtio network card. From both, the guest and the host i transfer files to my home.
When transfering files from the host then i get full speed of...
Ok thx for this, this seems to be the way if the files can be read-only. Is there a simillar war to make this with rw access? Is there a way to create a diskimage-file like raw/qcow out of this files?
Yes this function is the same as in vmware, i can select a folder on the host, and this folder is then visible in the guest system.
Thanks for your answer Jim, but unfortunately the guest must not have a network connection, so only a direct share is possible. Perhaps someone can tell me how to...
Hello,
on the host i have files in a folder /folder which i want to open (read only would be ok) in my kvm guest Win7.
Is this possible in any way? Can i make a raw/qcow image out of this folder and attach the image as second drive in the kvm? Or can i map the folder to the kvm like in vmware?

Hello,
ive files on the host in /data which i need on the guest as a harddisk (CD ROm ISO will not work). Can i make these files available from the guest? Can i convert them to a vmdk file and install it on the guest as a second HDD?
Would you recomend me either to use an lvm-stripe over both discs for the guest or to assign an mdraid0 like /dev/md1 in direct raw to the vm or to use the mdraid0 with an vmdk file?
Ok thanks for this, but this is not possible, this is a rootserver, and for this server no hardware raid is possible. So pls someone answer on my question how to configure two SATA disc best for proxmox....
Thx
