Klingt nach einem recht klassischen Problem mit Server-Boards, die bei nicht voll-kompatibler RAM-Bestückung einzelne/einige Dimms deaktivieren. Höchtwahrscheinlich sind die ~188GB nichts anderes als 2 nicht erkannte (deaktivierte) Dimms, was dann 192GB ausmachen würde. Und die angezeigten 188...

Nur für den Fall der Fälle: Ein 6.17er Kernel sollte sich in einem 24.04er Ubuntu (Codename noble) problemlos installieren lassen. Im Falle von 24.04.4 sollte dieser dann eh schon standardmäßig aktiv sein. Siehe z.B. hier: https://packages.ubuntu.com/noble/kernel/linux-image-6.17.0-20-generic...

Kernel Sourcen basieren aber auf denen von Ubuntu (eben nicht Debian). Insofern war der Test nicht so verkehrt.
