    PFSense

I'm debating about setting up a PFSense VM or a dedicated box for it. I have a dual port Intel PCI card in my PVE box already so I could dedicate another port to it, but I'm not sure how to.

    How about a PFSense appliance?

SATA RAID controllers supported by Proxmox

3Ware cards work. I use a 9650SE-8LP and as long as you carve out a partition smaller than 2TB you can install PVE on it just fine.

    assign storage to openvz container

Check out my thread around here, I ran into the same problem. You can't use OpenVZ on your LVM storage from what I gathered.

    Question about OpenVZ and paths

I think if I change to an e1000 network card that would help this particular VM. I'm going to try that tonight and see if it helps. It's only this one VM, the other 4 are running fine.

    Question about OpenVZ and paths

Yikes. I've got 5 KVM's running on this box in a datacenter. There's no way I can reinstall anything. Shoot, one of my CentOS KVM's is having performance issues and I thought this would be a quick fix.

    Question about OpenVZ and paths

Here's what's going on. I set up an OpenVZ VM and gave it 200GB of space. I run df on the machine and see this: [root@kerio6 ~]# df Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on simfs 30540016 7763824 22776192 26% / none 12337256...

    Question about OpenVZ and paths

I'm experimenting with a Kerio MailServer KVM and trying to move it to an OpenVZ CentOS container. The question I have is regarding paths and *where* the data is going. If I'm in my OpenVZ container I've given 300GB of space to, I type df and get simfs / 10% none /dev The path for the...

Nehalem Xeon E5520 and Intel S5520UR

I have 2x Xeon 5520's as well and see the same issues. I've got one CentOS KVM that performs "oddly" at times and one that just hangs once every 2 days or so. Cannot track down anything substantial yet, once they reboot they are fine for a few days. Both of mine are single core with 4GB of...

Anyone get the 3Ware web admin to work?

Yeah, I could have sworn I didn't, but then again it took like 40 minutes to install as the raid array was conditioning at the time so I might have only allowed localhost connections. everything is cool now, in fact you don't need the web admin to set email prefs either which I found out.

Anyone get the 3Ware web admin to work?

Okay, I figured it out. You need to follow the instructions here: http://spiralinks.blogspot.com/2009/03/howto-install-3ware-3dm2-on-ubuntu.html and change the RemoteAccess to 1 to enable a web connection from anything other than PVE.

Anyone get the 3Ware web admin to work?

I'm about to try and get the 3Ware web admin installed and wondered if anybody ran into problems getting it to come up? I've got the cli installed, but it seems I can't configure email notifications from the cli.

KVM - Mac OSX as Guest

I'm definitely interested in this. I have an Intel XServe JUST for VM's of OS X Server. Talk about expensive. I built a SuperMicro 2U box for half what the XServe cost and put 8 2TB drives in it for VM's. I would LOVE to virtualize Snow Leopard Server.

Wow, how did I miss that? Thanks for the info.

Install on single large Raid Lun (~3.8Tb) ?

If you need 1 VM to access 4TB why run PVE? Why not install a native OS?

    Changing memory in KVM?

It allows me to change it, but when I click the start button it reverts back to 1024.
