I make a test recomanded by WD: I use Acronis WD edition to clone the existing disk to WD disk. The cloning process was OK, but now I need to repair the bootloader (LILO). PVE have a procedure for this? How I can make the new disk to boot?

I try to install on debian lenny AMD64 but to format the disk in ext3 will take 1-2 days; so I give up. I think it's something incompatible in Linux...I still search for a sollution.

In this moment I can't :( I just buy them and I don't have the budget to buy another 2 disk's. I wait maybe Tom can provide me a trick to partition the disk. But the strange part is thha WD say's that for LINUX and MACOSX there are no problems. Only XP it's affected... Or PVE work with...

And how I can solve this issue? PVE create the partition automatically...and I can't change anything in partition properties. Maybe there are hidden options in PVE for disk that can help us to solve this issue?

I make a install on this server with Win 7 Pro x64 and this version work perfect. I will test the server with Debian 6 AMD64 to see if it's a general problem with Debian distro. I will test also with CentOS 5 X64

I set in BIOS SATA mode to Legacy (last was Enhanced) and now the tests (pveperf) return constant values. But, in some cases the system respond very slow, and I see a very high I/O Delay (more then 30%) - in situation that on this server it's no virtual machine installed. Anyone have any idea...

HI All, I discover what was the error. The cofiguration need to be set to give access to the entire device...not to a partition. So the config need to be set: IDE0: /dev/sda After this change I was capable to see the drive and to partition direct from Windows setup menu. Thank you for support!
