no...I'm not using RAID. The system it's installed on a Gigabyte EX38-DS5 with Q6600 on a 640GB S-ATA 7200RPM. The S-ATA is configure as AHCI. So...no RAID defined.

Repair root partition - restore system from CD

I'm not sure why but the PVE env 1.5 refuse to boot because he can't mount /dev/pve-root; I try to mount also the disk in Fedora: the /pve/data I mount Ok and copy all VM Images but /pve/root can't be mounted. How can I recover the installation? Can I repair this system from CD? I wait...

    Measure PVE performance

I test more then 10 configurations (3 servers) and I realize that: If someone want to configure a low cost server with normal configuration (used with maximum 5 VM) can use one 7200 rpm server with 64MB cache. I obtain on this test FSYNCS/SECOND >1000 even when the VM was started. In this case...

    Live Failover

Maybe an automatic failover will be availabe in the near future. There are more important task to solve until then. But, if you have a good server (RAID10 or 5 with battery backup) you will not have problems. To syncronise some servers between different locations...try to solve the problems...

    Live Failover

PVE cluster will not create Failover environment. For this you will need to create your own failover env. If you intend to have 2 PVE servers with identical VM, and to switch between them...sorry, but PVE will not do that for you (not now) But, if you want to have 2 Win 2003 server VM and to...

Onbord RAID controller on Intel SR2600URLX

Regarding to this post: http://www.proxmox.com/forum/showthread.php?p=16796#poststop I make some tests to see if I can measure the PVE performance on RAID 0 and RAID 10 using onbord RAID controllers. To be onest, I'm not familiar (too much) with this controllers; but, I have this platform...

    Measure PVE performance

I just compare some values: 1) RAID configuration: FSYNCS/SECOND: >3000 2) STANDARD S-ATA (7200 rpm disk): FSYNCS/SECOND: 100-200 3) SAS 15k (no raid): FSYNCS/SECOND: max 300. So the disk performance is connected to the RAID CARD. Without this, the PVE performance is LOW. Please post more...

    Measure PVE performance

Hi All, I intend to create a tutorial and explain how to create a correct PVE server and for this I need to know how to measure PVE parameters; what are the benchmark commands? If is possible to receive some values (let say "normal working" values) to try to see where we need to concentrate...
