I was meaning to add it to GUI. like for the VMs : (Clone and Convert to template) . For the same reason as you wish to do it on VMs. :-)

Great Work :-) It will be great thing to implement OpenVZ Containers Templates and Clones from the GUI also (same as for VM Templates and Clones).
