Problems with boot SSD and kernel 7.0.x

Hi,

since I use kernel 7.0.x I often have ro filesystem and write errors on the boot SSD.
I replaced several SSDs with brand new ones and also changed the SATA cable. No success.

But ...
when I boot with a 6.17.x kernel it runs stable.

Can sombody confirm this behaviour?

There is a problem in kernel 7!
It's a long known HPE hardware bug with RMRR and IOMMU
There is a fix with linux kernel parameters in grub:

quiet intel_iommu=on,relax_rmrr iommu=pt

Or you can disable VT-d in the BIOS if you don't need pass-through
(System Options -> Processor Options -> VT-d)

We have similar issue when try to install pmx 9.2.1 on Gigabyte H97M-D3H with a 240 kingston SSD
Near the end of the installation, the system fails to decompress the final packages, and we see write errors in the log. Consequently, the entire installation fails.
