Trying to install Proxmox to a small server with only one SSD. Keeps telling me "The installer could not find a supported hard disk"

Unfortunately you did not tell us anything specific about that "small server". How could we know anything about it??? What exact brand/type is it? Full spec? How is the SSD connected? Exact type of the SSD? Generic ideas, purely ad-hoc: check the Bios version; if there is a newer one available do install it - do not skip this opportunity! even if there is no newer version: do a "Factory Reset" when you see the SSD in the Bios: switch from "Raid mode" to "AHCI" (if there is such a thing) run any other Debian based Live CD/iso - does it see that SSD?
