Hello, I'm Meenu Hinduja and my husband Dheeraj Sudan, run a business. I’m trying to install Proxmox VE on my server, but I’m running into a kernel panic / boot issue during the installation process. The system either freezes or shows errors before completing the installation.

When you boot from your installation media, the first menu shows something like 1) "Install PVE" and 2) "Check media and install...". Make sure to use the second one, with "check".

I've had problems (somewhere during the installation, not at the very beginning) installing PVE when I used tools like "Ventoy" to boot the .iso, Since then I always create my installation media with good old "dd" (or ddrescue). Works. Every. Time.

You did not tell us anything about your hardware. Of course that might have problems...? One common recommendation is to run "memtest86" over night.

You are going to install PVE 8. Do you have a specific reason to install outdated software? If not: go to version 9.x.

Just my two €¢. Or four of them :-)
