Hi all,

Bit of a wierd issue here. Proxmox will receive a shutdown/restart request, do all of it's shutdown procedures, and then right at the last second fail to go to sleep state S5. It requires a physical hard reset to recover it.

As journalctl stops writing before sleep state S5 is initiated the logs don't provide the full story, unfortunately.

When connecting a monitor I can see slightly more, but it's also not an issue i'm very familiar with so I was hoping to get some help here.

Thanks in advance yall.
Edit: PVE 9.1.6 but the first time this happened was a couple months back

I had similar issue with a faulty pci-card which prevented proper shutdown.

What hardware are you using?
MSI Z370 SLI PLUS
i7-8700K
4x8GB ddr4
Samsung 990 evo pro 2tb host drive
4x 24Tb barracuda in zraid1
PSU... 750 gold or something I think. I'd have to do a full teardown to get to the model and serial number

I do have an unused pcie 1gb nic, I guess I'll shutdown the host, remove it, and check for the acpi extended modes when I'm home.

Of course now that I want to test it it doesn't do it. Bring you back with updates if anything goes wrong.
