Upgrade issue from pve 5.3.18-2-pve

Hi, I spun up my old server to get access to my files and wanted to update my system. Running the upgrade I noticed that I have a really old version of pve. (yes I know I am very late and run security risk. Please note that I did not use this system for years, and just wanted to use it again).

I followed the steps as listed in https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_5.x_to_6.0 but I am not able to upgrade to the PVE version 6. I receive the following error message:

Hi,

The system is too old, buster don't exist anymore in the security repository of Debian, you need to remove that source.

And you seem to have trixie in your repository, which is a bad idea because this is for PVE9

Hi, @Lowhat .
For buster in debian.org domain: in /etc/apt/sources.list remove any entries for buster at security.debian.org
and put only
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian buster main non-free contrib

Of course, as janus57 wrote, don't mix different releases, so remove any trixie entries.
