Hi guys !

I have problem/question: now i have 8 nodes proxmox cluster but i wanna to have only 2 nodes online 6 nodes offline.

So if i change in
/etc/pve/corsync.conf
from
quorum_votes: 1
change to
quorum_votes: 2

on two nodes i will have quorum if only 2 nodes from 8 will be online?

It's this safe and possible to change quorum votes for nodes.

I understand manual but is there possibility to change quorum votes for one node, so one node will have more votes than other nodes

THX, i will try to change numer of votes later.

@Chris do you think this is possible to do change number of votes per node to make 8 node cluster working with only two nodes online? Somebody tried this?

im trying to rebuild my homelab and i came upon an interesting question, maybe anyone has an idea:

i have lte's say 3 Nodes, 2 for testing and 1 primary for live VM's ... like mentiont above the move nodes i have the harder it is to chanke votes per node manual to achive certain behaviors. But what is if i set the votes of node 2 and 3 (testing Nodes) to 0 and the main node has 1 or 2 votes: so testing-nodes cant never achiev quorum and only the main node is "MAIN" ?
would this work?

Hi,

Why are you running this in cluster ?
If you want to mess with quorom, just use the 3 servers as standalone node.

Propably not. What do you want to achieve? You don't need a cluster for migration just setup the datacenter manager in a vm and you can migrate between the nodes if needed.
