Experience with upgrade from 8.2.5 to 9.0

No issue with me, work like a charm.
My environment use:
GW: use iso from proxmox
MTA: use debian then install proxmox mailgw

no problems with the PMG upgrade. Network device names changed during upgrade, needed some repair afterwards.

We have implemented several modifications to enhance spam detection, most of which were inspired by discussions on this forum. I’m concerned that I might lose these changes, as I no longer remember exactly what I did. :))

In theory there is no safe way to upgrade if you don't remember what you did on a system. But I'd say that most changes should be preserved if you upgrade in place and carefully compare the configuration changes the upgrade process asks you about.

Also make sure to create a backup and test that (in this case I'd recommend a backup of the complete system as some of your modifications might not be included in a backup created via the GUI/pmgbackup
