(Compatibility) Is there a problem restoring a pve8 VM backup (PBS) to a pve9?

Is there a risk of compatibility issues when restoring a PVE8 VM backup (PBS) to a PVE9?

Windows and Linux VMs.

If so, what issues might I face?
And what precautions should I take?
What should I check or change in the VM settings?

Shouldn't be.

I was able to restore a PVE 7 VM to PVE 8 last year.

Just did a PVE 8 VM to PVE 9 last week.

I upgrade PVE first and do PBS last.

Hi,
There is no issue restoring virtual machine backups from PVE8 on PVE9.
However, restoring from a higher version to a lower version may fail due to the machine version.
In such cases, the backup can be restored by adjusting the machine version in the hardware settings.
