Not supported but works obviously. I've set it up a few months ago to play around with it. From a technical standpoint it works, yet not from a conceptionally one. Without a cluster it's kind a useless. Just virtualize 3 (or better 5) nodes and do a proper ceph setup to play around with.

Someone suggested it for software RAID on 3 standalone systems but I think Ceph (multinode cluster) or ZFS (since that is what it is designed for) would be better options. I sometimes use the 'is it supported in production' question to short circuit the debate.
