Hi everyone,
I'm a long-time user and fan of Proxmox, and recently I've been facing a strange issue across three different sites.
Let me explain my setup:

Here are the SSDs in each server:
Could this be a Proxmox issue?
I’ve scanned all the disks, ran SMART tests, and long cluster checks—everything looks fine.
Here’s the error I get when attempting to move a VM image to another disk:
Thanks in advance!
I'm a long-time user and fan of Proxmox, and recently I've been facing a strange issue across three different sites.
Let me explain my setup:
Each server has
- One SSD dedicated to the OS (Proxmox)
- Another SSD for the VMs
- And an HDD for backups
Here are the SSDs in each server:
- One server has a 3-year-old SSD (which is fine—I checked it with Victoria HDD, including cluster inspection)
- Another has a 6-month-old 2TB ADATA Legend M.2 SSD
- The third has a 2TB Kingston SSD
Could this be a Proxmox issue?
I’ve scanned all the disks, ran SMART tests, and long cluster checks—everything looks fine.
Here’s the error I get when attempting to move a VM image to another disk:
If I reboot the server and retry the migration, it works perfectly, and the VMs run without issues. For now, I’ve moved all VM images to the backup HDD, and everything is stable—but I’d really like to understand what’s going on.create full clone of drive sata0 (VMs:104/vm-104-disk-0.qcow2) TASK ERROR: storage migration failed: qemu-img: Could not open '/mnt/pve/VMs/images/104/vm-104-disk-0.qcow2': Input/output error
Thanks in advance!
