Hello

In UNRAID if the Windows 11 VM is not being used and is idle for some time, the VM pauses and i just resume it from the UNRAID GUI.
I want this capability in Proxmox, how do I set the VM to auto-pause after a specific idle time?

you could do this within the windows vm, just set it to go into standby after xxx minutes

in settings -> system -> power & battery -> screen, sleep & hibernation timeouts
there you can set a time for standby mode

you are right - after testing this myself i cant find the settings either.
i guess the current windows virtio drivers don't have or support any kind of power saving / standby.

but you said it worked in unraid and because they use kvm too i suspect the virtio guest tools or some missing / different virtual hardware device.
did you move the vm from unraid to pve or installed it fresh?

you can try to check
the vm hardware devices / settings on unraid and pve if something is different or missing.
the virtio guest tools version on both vm's

maybe you had different virtual hardware with older virtio guest tools on unraid that supported standby mode?
