Hi,

I have a bare metal installation of proxmox on my device. The device contains two NIC's:
  • Intel i225 with interfaces enp1s0, enp2s0 and enp3s0
  • NVIDIA-Mellanox ConnectX-3 dual 10GbE OCP with interfaces enp5s0 and enp5s0d1
I did configure two Linux Bridges, one with interface enp1s0 and one with enp5s0d1 using fixed ip's. Both are wired to my external hardware network switch.
Both interfaces link with the hardware network switch. I can reach the proxmox host via enp1s0. As soon as I unplug the network cable for enp1s0, the host becomes unreachable.
Anyone an idea why my LAN Bridge enp5s0d1 is not working, although I see that it is properly connected to the hardware network switch?

Appreciate your help.

You can not have multiple NICs in the same network (on the same host). It will work sometimes for a short while and then fail randomly.

Remove the IP address from LAN or from MGMT.

To use both physical NICs assign IP addresses from different networks to the bridges. To inter-connect different networks... I use a router.

Thank you Udo, this worked!
