move storage

Good Day,

you have 10 Nodes. 4 nodes compute and 6 nodes ceph only
you have 1 NFS for the 4 nodes compute only.

When proxmox perform move storage, from ceph to NFS of a VM via the Hardware -> Disk Action -> Move Storage, would it be faster if the ceph node has access to the NFS mount also?

Anyone has any traffic flow on how Move Storage is being performed?

No, the NFS is read on the node where the VM is currently located.

okie. so the compute node has both access to the NFS and CEPH storage so it acts as the medium. Thank you gurubert for the information.
