Hello,

I have a 3 node Proxmox cluster and I'm thinking of adding another node, so there would be 4.
I don't use HA. Is there is any situation when the cluster might not start the VMs because of lack of quorum?

Thanks!

if you loose quorum (2 nodes down / 4), you'll not be able to start vm (or any other action)
Same thing with 3 nodes, one goes down, and you dont have quorum...
Today two of our four servers went down... HA didnt work because there was no quorum...
Back in vSphere with HA, there is no such thing as quorum and HA works with whatever the number of servers you got, 1, 2, 3, 4...

Yes. As expected, documented at more than one place and discussed here a zillion times.

if you have 3 nodes, and you loose one, you still have quorum. (2/3 is a majority)

2/4 is not a majority, so no quorum

vmware HA require a shared storage, and it's using it as heartbeat/vote to keep quorum
