if you loose quorum (2 nodes down / 4), you'll not be able to start vm (or any other action)Is there is any situation when the cluster might not start the VMs because of lack of quorum?
Same thing with 3 nodes, one goes down, and you dont have quorum...if you loose quorum (2 nodes down / 4), you'll not be able to start vm (or any other action)
Yes. As expected, documented at more than one place and discussed here a zillion times.Today two of our four servers went down... HA didnt work because there was no quorum...
if you have 3 nodes, and you loose one, you still have quorum. (2/3 is a majority)Same thing with 3 nodes, one goes down, and you dont have quorum...
2/4 is not a majority, so no quorumToday two of our four servers went down... HA didnt work because there was no quorum...
vmware HA require a shared storage, and it's using it as heartbeat/vote to keep quorumBack in vSphere with HA, there is no such thing as quorum and HA works with whatever the number of servers you got, 1, 2, 3, 4...
