Hello everyone!
I have two-node cluster and old QNAP NAS storage, which is quite slow.
Recently I've bought additional server for NAS storage.
So I have a question, what is better:
1. Install Proxmox on additional server, add it as 3rd node to cluster and run NAS (like NAS4Free or any Linux distribution) as VM on top of it;
2. Install OS for NAS on bare metal and do not add it to a cluster.
Maybe, there is any better ways?

Thank you.

So, I answer myself.
I've installed Proxmox, added it to a cluster and set up XigmaNAS (former FreeNAS) in VM vith 6 SAS disks in passthrough mode, ZFS filesystem (now playing with compression).
Backup speeds up from 20 MB/s to 70-80 MB/s on a gigabit network, backup time 4 times lower.
Great result for me.
