    Upgrading CPU decreased performance

Thnaks for the answer @LnxBil UI is not just slightly slower. It is very bad. I almost dont use the UI now and use ssh, even VSCode over ssh. I have 1 main VM. Most of the time I do not have much going on in parallel, but I love the option of starting second machine doing something there and...

    Upgrading CPU decreased performance

I upgraded my cpu from 3900x to 4950x. And now I get screen tearing with my Ubuntu20 guest. I have 128GB ram 60 GB dedicated to this VM. Tried with another VM and have similar problem.

Staring a vm causes unrelated disk disappear

You are a genious. You actually pointed in the right direction. Pcie passthrough is the reason guest is stealing these hard drives from host. So the old address for GPU has changed, and hostpci0: 0000:0b:00,pcie=1 is now pointing to sata controller, GPU has moved to 0000:0c:.00. Thank you very much

    Proxmox Becomes Unreachable

Thanks for suggestion. It seems to be better now, I added pcie_acs_override=downstream ... into grub So I assume your point was right And that may explain why I was able ping but not ssh into the machine. Probably I was talking to the guest machine that is automatically started. I cant go back...

    Proxmox Becomes Unreachable

I hope there is an easy approach to handle my torture. I had a proxmox setup used till a week ago. My setup: I use GPU passthrough so that my AI guest VM can use gpu accelaration. Because of the settings required by pci passthrough vga output from host is disabled. I have 2 ethernet ports...

    On demand Desktop Environment

Not that it is very essential, but I want to ask others opinion. I have many VM that I have for different experimentations, some of them I keep running but I intereact with small subset at each point in time. With proxmox (some extension or completely separate tool) is it possible to linux vm...

Hello I have been trying to set up passthrough to my Windows guest. I tried following different tutorials. Overcame several issues. I feel I am almost there. But also I feel almost like quitting. Installed latest driver on windows guest and it gives error 43 for the device. I am at a point...
