Hahaha yes :D Look into #3, there is a link to the MS download page, which also includes the CABs for 32bit OSes. Server 2008 is based on the Vista-kernel, 2008 R2 on Windows 7. So for 2008 R2 32bit you should give the CAB for x86 Windows 7 a try.

When I create/add storages via the GUI (for example via Disks | Directory) then this devices are mounted automatically after a restart - without an entry in /etc/fstab? Where does Proxmox save this mounts and options? Is it possible to change mount options?

Experienced the same. Luckily it was a test VM and I was able to restore to a snapshot. It would have taken hours to recreate one node of my cluster if this would have happened to a "real" server.
