Proxmox 1.5 Can't login in webgui

Very odd, this is still happening in the latest 1.9 version: pve:~# umount -at nfs umount.nfs: Server failed to unmount '169.254.1.200:/home/vm-iso' umount.nfs: Server failed to unmount '169.254.1.200:/home/vm-disks' umount.nfs: Server failed to unmount '169.254.1.200:/home/vm-backup' pvesm...

    Switching to NFS

With KVM the disk space usage is dependent on the disk type. qcow files grow as needed, raw and virtio will use the disk space assigned, in your example 10 or 100G. It's pretty easy to expand raw disks to 200G when needed with dd. There are plenty of forum posts on this, but you may find the...

    Switching to NFS

There is no problem running containers using KVM on an NFS. This works quite nicely. For VZ, these usually cannot not be on an NFS. For containers hosted off the NFS, you also need to take into consideration snapshots. There are some limitations when trying to when trying to make snapshots of...

New Proxmox VE kernel - 2.6.32 (pvetest)

We have had zero luck so far with this 1880-ixl card. What's the driver version that was used? I'll see if we can use the same firmware as on the 1880-ix that works.

    proxmox automatic security updates

KSplice is/was GPL version 2, no? Not sure if the Oracle acquisition changes that, other than their mention that "Source code packages which Ksplice previously made available prior to the acquisition are being migrated to http://oss.oracle.com." I guess whether it will be maintained as oss in...

New Proxmox VE kernel - 2.6.32 (pvetest)

yes, indeed! very strange. My raid 10 is only ~1200MB, and everything seems to be set correctly. Anyway, I will look into this further and report back. If anyone else has a 1880-ixl and experiencing this issue, please holler.

New Proxmox VE kernel - 2.6.32 (pvetest)

Unfortunately, this kernel is not working with the 1880-ixl series. Not sure why, haven't had time to check... Anyone else notice this? 1880-ixl is the low-profile card, not full height. Same raid-on processor as the regular 1880-ix. Works fine with the 1880-ix-16-4G.

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

Awesome!!!! Thank you! Can't wait to try it out! Update: raid initialization is complete with the 6405 with bbu/zmm, in raid 10, using 4 sasII (6Gbit/s) 10K drives pve24:~# pveperf /var/lib/vz CPU BOGOMIPS: 100802.43 REGEX/SECOND: 719498 HD SIZE: 969.05 GB...

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

Absolutely it works under debian. We had it running there with LVM, just not Proxmox. After bribing, they have kindly added support for it in the latest ISO. We are setting up a box with one now, and so far install is going smoothly. Will post results sometime tomorrow when the raid 10 is...

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

LOL .. I will talk to my boss again during our staff meetings tomorrow ;-) Also, I assume this driver will be in future releases of all Proxmox releases, correct? And, any chance that the Areca 1880 series will be included? That one blows the adaptec away! (we built a custom kernel, but are...

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

Very Cool! How is the performance? Did you have a chance to run some benchmarks?

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

Thanks Tom, we will be doing some additional benchmarking with bonnie++ and also awaiting another areca card (seems like one of the active users here has a lot of success with arecas). Still curious as to why with the pveperf tool running under a Debian build with the 6405 + bbu, but same...

New Proxmox VE kernels 2.6.18, 2.6.32 and 2.6.35 released to stable

Thanks Tom. You should expect something later in the day, from what Urs said. Anyway, we have replaced the cards with 5405Z/5805Zs, but are getting about 2200 fsyncs/sec with 10k SAS drives in a raid 10, with the .32 kernel (new 1.8 build). We've have the aligned the stripes and re-initialized...

I will shoot him an email and find out. He said he would, so likely after he gets back from abroad. Did he contact you at all?
