Depends how you organise your pools.
You could see it like a group membership and create multiple pools depending on what they're used for.
This can be solved with naming conventions like a prefix to differenciate between the different functions of the pools.
I'm not trying to impose extra...
Hi,
Currently I'm running a PVE node on a dedicated host at a host provider.
On that host I have a firewall VM to handle all traffic (including traffic of PVE itself).
Storage is ZFS based for the PVE server (boot and VM pools)
When I perform a backup of the firewall to my remote PBS server I...
Hi,
I'm a long time user of Proxmox ve and Proxmox backup server since it came out.
Currently I'm optimising my backup setup, and I was wondering how hard it would be to add some additional logic to the backups.
It would be very handy to have the following options added to the mix:
Exclude...
I was indeed making that mistake, thank you for your guidance!
I forgot to check the post and found the issue on reddit, i posted it in previous post to add it here since my initial search led me here.
I found the following on reddit and it solved my issue:
Check ID's for disks / partition with `ls -lah /dev/disk/by-id`. My original ssd was /dev/nvme0n1 and my new (the old Freenas one I want to add to my array) is /dev/nvme1n1 !! Your drive names may be different !!

Hi, did you ever get a reply?
I'm currently in the same situation and i've no idea how to fix this.
I didn't use the proxmox boot tool and just used zpool replace XXX XXX
Is there a way to rectify this situation?
This happenend a month ago to give you an idea, if you went for a personal account you have the right to cancel within the first 14 days in europe, might be something to look into
When I opened the case something became very clear.
With the issue they first said we will activate parameter on your vds to make it work. That did not work, even when giving all the information and told them their host OS needs to be on the correct kernel to be able to run proxmox 7 nested they...
Honestly, I moved away from contabo. Support takes a while to answer, their systems don’t work with the kernel that comes with PVE7 so you have to run an old kernel or run pve6.
For the exact same price as a vds at contabo I got a dedicated server at herzner with more resources and diskspace for...
yeah, i'd prefer an upgrade path.
I made a setup with a virtual firewall and proxmox behind it, if I have to backup everything and restore afterwards for the new template it will be a pain. I'm hoping there will be an upgrade path in the future so we can just upgrade from within the VDS with no...
@glanc : Did you get to solve it with Contabo?
When i tried it i had the same, and the vnc access was no longer working.
Since it was a clean install I just redeployed the proxmox image from Contabo and started over. But i've been running the vds for a while and am very happy with it, but i...
