Reduced BAR on 8.1 with Intel Arc A380

Yes, I’m using the lateat BIOS on my board now. It does support resizeable BAR, and does give the card the proper amount of RAM when inspected with lspci.

Reduced BAR on 8.1 with Intel Arc A380

Yes, it is definitely supported. I have it working now in Ubuntu on a 6.5 kernel (see post #5 in Edit portion this thread). You just need a new kernel and drivers (installed in the VM) and to pass through the card properly to your VM.

Reduced BAR on 8.1 with Intel Arc A380

First, thanks for the helpful suggestions! I've already tried the GRUB option and didn't notice any difference, so I've removed that again. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet video=efifb:off" My virtual machine is running a 6.5 kernel with the latest Intel drivers. I tried to swap it to an...

Reduced BAR on 8.1 with Intel Arc A380

Thanks for the idea! Passthrough is technically working. The GPU is in the VM and shows up in the lspci with the proper driver loaded, it's just not getting the re-size of the BAR (this is probably what you meant). My motherboard unfortunately doesn't seem to have an option disable resizable...

Reduced BAR on 8.1 with Intel Arc A380

Hello, I have been able to pass through my Intel Arc GPU to an Ubuntu 22.04 64-bit server virtual machine. The host in an AMD Epyc 7402 on a Supermicro H12SSL-I running Proxmox 8.1. On the PVE host I have IOMMU working. Here are the steps that I've done. root@hyperion:~# dmesg | grep -e DMAR...

Backup failing with err -5 - Input/output error

As another option, I guess I could do this transfer by hand to the new host. I would just like to figure this out as I've never had a Proxmox backup fail like this before.

Backup failing with err -5 - Input/output error

I am trying to migrate all of my KVM virtual machines off a Proxmox 3.4 host to new hardware that is a 4.4 host. I have migrated all of my vms except one. I have a Windows 7 virtual machine that the backup fails everytime at 9%. This is a vm with an 80GB hard drive in RAW format (LVM storage...

Can't create a pool with ZFS - invalid argument for this pool operation

Everything is stock Proxmox. I haven't install anything from the zfsonlinux site. A few weeks ago I setup a small pool of SSDs to temporarily, so this used to work (I used zpool destroy to remove the unused pool a few days ago). Unfortunately, I can't create new pools anymore.

Can't create a pool with ZFS - invalid argument for this pool operation

Thanks for the reply, but this is a host that I've been running for a while now. I have restarted a few times already trying to get this to work. I use the pve test 3.10 kernel if that makes any difference.

Can't create a pool with ZFS - invalid argument for this pool operation

Hello, I have a Proxmox 3.4 host, and for some reason, I can't create a simple zfs mirror. Here's what I'm trying to do. zpool create -f -o ashift=12 datastore mirror /dev/disk/by-id/ata-Crucial_CT256MX100SSD1_14330CEDCBB5 /dev/disk/by-id/ata-Crucial_CT256MX100SSD1_14290CA27F0F log...

    Ramdisk for KVM Minecraft VM

Geez, I feel like an idiot. I looked at this stupid thing all day, and couldn't even get it to boot. I had created multiple directories like this. mkdir -p {minecraft,minecraft_backup, minecraft_ramdisk} As, you can see, the stupid space in my mkdir string created the wrong directory and as...

    Ramdisk for KVM Minecraft VM

Hello, I'm trying to setup a Minecraft Server in a KVM instance for nephew. I have read that loading the maps in a ramdisk can greatly reduce the lag. I have this all working on my local hardware test machine (Ubuntu 12.04.3 Server), but when I add the tmpfs line to my /etc/fstab on Proxmox...
