This problem just hit my Proxmox Backup Server, so I had to get a remote console to fix it. :/ For now I replaced ifupdown2 with the older ifupdown on the server.

I can confirm that `localhost` causes the "error fetching datastores - 500 500 Status read failed: Connection reset by peer" error and replacing it with `127.0.0.1` makes everything work again.
