    I choose raid 0, because I only have one drive and that's the only option to install proxmox on zfs. I think all zfs raid options should work. As far as I understand only ESP with UEFI will work, because grub only supports a subset of zfs options. Regarding encrypted swap I didn't look at it so...

    Thank you all very much for this thread. That was very helpful. I've used the information from here and added some stuff, so that I can unlock my proxmox root via ssh and have an encrypted dataset for vms and containers. Perhaps that's helpful to anyone...
